An essential guide for floor plan design.

I believe designing a good floor plan is both an art and a science and so many floor plans are ruined because the basic fundamentals of spacing and dimensioning are not followed. In this 14 page diagrammatic e-book, I demonstrate why space planning is so important and show you the most common floor plan mistakes to avoid. These principles can be applied to small or large spaces. The diagrams break down kitchens, living, dining, bedrooms and bathrooms in fine detail and show optimized layouts and furniture placement strategies that you can apply to your own plans or use as a reference.

The dimensions are in

both metric and imperial.

Plan Attack Community

This is a 100 page book condensed into 14 pages. I literally spent an hour studying each diagram. As an architect, I would just copy each drawing and plug them into my plans!

I just downloaded and read the Critical Dimensions e-book. Thought it was great! Very well laid out and informative. I'm not an architect or planning on doing any renovation but my wife and I are looking ahead to probably downsizing in the future and I've found your Plan Attacks and this book to be a big help to evaluating floor plans and finding out what to look for in a design (and what to avoid!). It will all come in very handy when we do decide to move.

As an architect, I always pay attention to the dimensions and what we call anthropometrics and ergonomics. Recently, I have discovered the Instagram of the architect Matthew North and his project "Plan Attack". He shares with as an e-book about critical dimensions. I really appreciate it. A global approach that can be applied to create a good floor plan. By taking into account measurement, optimal spacing, composition, efficiency and design quality. Innovation is also present, with the integration of Plan Attack Stencils to the Morpholio trace app using layers. The E book presents the common problems with bedroom, living, dining, kitchen, bathroom and laundry dimensions and the critical dimensions every architect can apply, with various layouts.
